Community Relations Coordinator

A fulltime opportunity for an individual with at least two to three years experience planning events and fundraising. This position is a member of a three-person team responsible for planning events that will showcase WHYY services in order to attract and retain members. Requirements include strong communication skills, including presentation skills, experience working with or planning activities for children, previous experience with grant writing or management, and advance knowledge of software packages including Excel and Convio. Director of Multimedia Marketing

Reporting to the Executive Director of Communications and Brand Management, this fulltime position will be responsible for the development and implementation of multimedia marketing campaigns to acquire and sustain audiences and revenue streams for WHYY programs and services, with a focus on emerging products such as NewsWorks, WHYY soon-to-be-launched hyper-local online news service. In order to be successful in this role, an individual must possess a minimum of five years experience in an online consumer acquisition marketing role, with hands-on and intimate knowledge of Search Engine Optimization, e-marketing, ROI and key online marketing metrics. In addition, the ideal candidate will be familiar and have experince with proven online marketing and customer acquisition strategies development and management; well-defined interpersonal and communication skills; experience performing detailed analysis and research; and familiarity with utilizing social media to achieve goals. 7/2/10


Producer/Reporter/Host

An exciting opportunity to join the team at WHYY's Delaware magazine broadcast, "First", as well as produce and report stories across WHYY's multiple platforms. The ideal applicant must be able to produce pieces for broadcast from idea conception to air; participate in studio segments with newsmakers and other segments as defined each week; and participate in the studio record session for "First" on a weekly basis. In addition to on-air responsibilities, this position mustfor target and develop material for the "First" website. The position is also the lead person for arts and culture coverage in Delaware and providing daily news coverage on whyy.org. The web segments should also include include audio, video and web links. To be successful in this position, an individual must possess a minimum of three years on-air experience as a reporter/anchor/producer; be able to produce quality work in a deadline driven environment, and have a working knowledge of the state of Delaware. Strong writing skills, a sense of what is "news", and an ease at being on air, along with a familiarity with avid non-linear editors, round out the requirements for this position. Web Developer/Producer

Reporting to the Director of Online Services, this is a part-time, temporary (one year) project to design and develop a web page for a project to promote healthy eating and nutrition. Knowledge of the standard applications used in web development are necessary: Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc.; knowledge of html and CSS; must be able to produce standard-compliant content. In addition, experience with including Google maps, databases, mobile applications and utilizing social media are required as well. Experience with video shooting and editing preferred.
